We currently have an opening for an Automation & Controls Engineer to join our Systems Integration team. The position is based in our Houston, TX location, and primarily supports Tetra Tech's municipal, industrial water and wastewater clients. The selected candidate shall experience a unique opportunity to be involved with SCADA projects located in various areas of the country working with a team of in-house experts in all disciplines.  

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead SCADA system designs, write specifications, develop design drawings for SCADA system and network upgrades.
  • Configuring and programming PLCs and HMIs, performing SCADA system simulation and testing, and startup assistance.
  • Building solid relationships with our growing client base.
  • Assists in development of SCADA master plans and standards for programming and design. 
  Required Skills:
  • Ability to study and produce engineering drawings such as site plans, wiring diagrams, panel details, and SCADA architecture diagrams is required.
  • Working knowledge with Allen-Bradley PLCs (designing and programming) is strongly preferred.  
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, SCADA/OT networking, virtualization, Server OS is a plus.
  • Experience with any (or all) of the following HMI/SCADA platforms below is a plus:
    • Aveva (Wonderware) InTouch and System Platform
    • Trihedral VTScada
    • Rockwell FactoryTalk View (SE and ME)
    • GE iFIX
    • Ignition by Inductive Automation 
  Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or related technical degree is preferred, PE a plus. 
  Experience:
  • 2-10 years of related automation experience with HMI's, PLC's and general SCADA integration.
  Travel:
  • Ability and willingness to travel is required.  Approximately 25% over-night travel may be required to support on-site activities such as site visits, start-ups, and troubleshooting.
