UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced Automation Integration Specialist to support and optimize advanced building automation and HVAC control systems. This role will manage the Siemens Apogee Automation Database, support system backups and disaster recovery, identify opportunities for improved efficiency, and provide technical guidance to HVAC controls technicians. Works under supervision to provide skills associated with HVAC and building automation systems.

We are looking for someone with:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of advanced experience with HVAC DDC controls and related HVAC systems.
  • Proven experience with the Siemens Apogee Building Automation System and integration of automation control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of programming complex, integrated systems and communications protocols.
  • Experience with BACnet and/or Modbus.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • An associate degree in Electronic Technology or completion of a manufacturerโ€™s temperature-controls service course is preferred.

Work Location: Dallas Campus; may or may not require travel to and from other UTSW locations.

Shift Requirement: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
  • Education
    • High School Diploma Or equivalence and
  • Experience
    • 5 years of advanced experience in HVAC DDC controls and related HVAC systems, experience with the Siemens Apogee Building Automation System, and proven experience with integration of automation control systems and
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • (DRIVERS) DRIVERS LICENSE Must maintain a valid State of Texas driver's license Upon Hire
Preferred
  • Education
    • Associate's Degree In Electronic Technology field or vocational school with completion of manufacturer's service course in repair and maintenance of temperature controls
  • Experience
    • Knowledge of Bacnet and/or Modbus protocols as well as JCI and Alerton automation systems highly desirable.
JOB DUTIES
  • Manages, backups, and restores a large Siemens Apogee Automation Database through normal maintenance as well as during disaster recovery.
  • Identifies opportunities on campus to improve efficiencies with upgrades, programming, or automation system optimization.
  • Mentors and teaches less knowledgeable technicians in advanced HVAC controls operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
