Job description

1. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
  • Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of automated sortation systems, conveyor systems, barcode scanners, DWS systems, and other material handling equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and operating parameters to ensure system availability and operational efficiency (target uptime of 98% or higher).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation.
2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
  • Respond quickly to equipment failures, system alarms, downtime, and operational issues.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, PLC, and control system failures and implement corrective actions to minimize production interruptions.
  • Establish rapid response procedures to reduce equipment downtime and improve maintenance efficiency.
3. Preventive Maintenance & Reliability Improvement
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for automation equipment.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and track component life cycles.
  • Monitor key maintenance KPIs, including MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and continuously improve equipment reliability while reducing maintenance costs.
4. Equipment Installation & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of new automation equipment.
  • Work closely with equipment vendors and engineering teams on system upgrades and process improvements.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and recommend energy-saving initiatives and operational optimization projects.
5. Documentation & Training
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance documentation, and emergency response procedures.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to operations and maintenance personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of automation equipment.
  • Promote standardized maintenance practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience maintaining automated material handling systems, conveyor systems, or warehouse automation equipment.
  • Familiarity with cross-belt sorters, DWS systems, AGVs, barcode scanners, and other logistics automation equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, sensors, drives, and industrial automation.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar engineering software.
  • Basic understanding of industrial networking and TCP/IP communication is preferred.
  • Must be bilingual in Mandarin and English
Experience & Certifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining automated logistics equipment, warehouse automation systems, or industrial automation equipment preferred.
  • California Electrician Certification or equivalent electrical certification is preferred. Candidates without certification should be willing to obtain the required certification within a reasonable period after hire.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
