Job Summary

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of plumbing, HVAC equipment, life safety equipment, pumps, exhaust fans, pneumatic tube systems, building automation, Med Gas systems, electrical equipment, and nurse call systems. Requires utilizing an auger machine, compressed air, refrigeration equipment, and various mobile commercial equipment.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health.Serve with compassion.Be the difference

  • Maintains physical items at Prisma property such as, ceilings, floors, walls, furniture, artwork, equipment, etc. Collaborates with team to address issues.

  • Performs maintenance repairs or installations while maintaining safety of self and others.Investigates delays, solves problems, and ensures timely completion of work.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and documents as required.

  • Performs scheduled maintenance, complying with Joint Commission, DPH, and other codes/standards.

  • Responds to fire alarms and emergency codes at all facilities.

  • Inspects all outside lighting and reports problems promoting a safe environment.

  • Assists other maintenance mechanics and crafts as needed on repairs.

  • Performs work accurately and in a timely manner without close supervision.Documents work performed in an accurate and timely manner. Available for Call-Back in emergency situations.Observes all safety procedures and ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.

  • Receives in-service training periodically on testing of emergency generators.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned

  • Experience - Two (2) years maintenance experience.

In Lieu Of

  • In lieu of education and experience requirements noted above, 2-year college degree (e.g., Associate's) or completion of a technical certification, apprenticeship, or accredited trade program with no experience may be considered.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

  • A valid driver's license; an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart; and proof of auto insurance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills

  • Data entry skills
