Your role as a Machinist Apprenticeship
As a Machinist Apprentice at ATC Automation, your day-to-day expectations will include learning to operate and maintain various machining tools and equipment under the guidance of experienced machinists. You will assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping materials to precise specifications while adhering to safety protocols and quality control standards. To thrive as a Machinist Apprentice at ATC Automation, you should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle challenges effectively in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is crucial, as precision is essential in machining processes. Basic mathematical skills will help you understand measurements and calculations necessary for quality work.
Additionally, effective communication skills are important for collaborating with team members and understanding instructions. A willingness to learn and adapt is vital, as you will be exposed to various machining techniques and technologies. Job Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Interpersonal skills
• Communication skills
• Mathematical skills
• Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force
• Conitunous walking and standing 8+ hours per day

Preferred Skills:

• Machine or Tool Class experience
• Vo-Tech Machinist expereince

Physical Demands and Conditions

• Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 35 feet.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
• Exposure to high noise levels, moving/rotating equipment, fumes, dust, oil and other fluids.
• Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
• Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
• Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodation.
• HEARING Ability: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose.
