Job description

Job Summary: The Welding Automation Lead will oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated welding systems. This role requires a deep understanding of welding processes, robotics, and automation technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding engineering and a passion for driving innovation in manufacturing.
General Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated welding systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to incorporate weld automation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding automation equipment.
  • Train and mentor team members on the use of automated welding systems.
  • Manages regular maintenance and upgrades of welding automation equipment.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in welding automation technology.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they adhere to quality standards and specifications.
  • Primarily responsible for fixture development and programming for robot and cobot weld process.
  • Will be a resource to production for fixture development in fabrication away from the robot and cobot weld cells.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to improve processes and resolve technical issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material type, size, and shape.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding automation or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming and operating robotic welding systems.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Certification in welding or robotics is a plus.
