Synthetic Products Franchise strats are working with the firm's management, trading, sales, finance and operation personnel, using their mathematical and scientific training to create financial products, develop highly efficient automated solutions, advise clients on transactions, price and systematically manage risk and identify market opportunities. 

The team's objectives are to expand GS Equity Swaps business, help attracting new clients and grow revenue. We do this by building next generation of automated systems that provide best-in-class client experience.

Working in close collaboration with bankers, traders and portfolio managers across the firm, their invaluable quantitative perspectives on complex financial and technical challenges power our business decisions.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential  

  • Expanding desk's product offering by developing models for new client trades.
  • Enhancing operational scale and reducing desk cost via process automation.
  • Analysis and implementation of trading strategies for the desk.
  • Development and maintenance of trading systems for the desk.
  • Calculation and attribution of the desk's profit and loss.
  • Calculation of real-time and daily risk.

Who We Look For

  • PhD or Masters in applicable field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computational Finance, Quantitative Finance.
  • Strong programming skills and experience with an object oriented programming language (such as C++, Python, Java).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills using math, statistics, and programming.
  • 1 - 5 years of work experience is preferable.
  • Prior experience in Finance industry is preferable.
  • Work experience in data analysis is preferable.
  • Basic fixed income & bond mathematics knowledge is preferable.
  • Experience in development of models for bespoke financial products is preferable.

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150,000-$225,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
