REPORTS TO: CAD Technician

STATUS: non-exempt

SALARY RANGE: $25.00 - $35.00/hour based on interview outcome and qualifications

LOCATION: Ludington, MI

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive team member to support our CAD designer by preparing drawings, updating existing files, and assisting with documentation. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone building foundational CAD skills and learning how drawings translate into real-world fabrication, construction, and manufacturing. The primary responsibility will be converting 3D models into accurate 2D drawings for production and project documentation.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing drawing sets, layers, and file structures.
  • Create simple 2D drawings under the guidance of the senior detailer.
  • Convert 3D models into precise 2D drawings suitable for fabrication or documentation.
  • Verify dimensions and geometry when translating 3D models to 2D.
  • Review drawings for completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Update existing drawings with redlines, revisions, and corrected dimensions.
  • Help assemble submittal packages or project documentation.
  • Maintain CAD library of parts, symbols, and templates.
  • Learn from senior team members and expand CAD skills over time.


Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with Autodesk Inventor.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when creating or updating drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of drafting standards and conventions (line types, layers, dimensions, annotations).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to provide strong customer service and effectively interface with customers and vendors in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a team player and help where needed yet motivated to work independently.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and nights as required by project schedules, which may include holidays.


Licensing & Special Requirements:

  • Background check required.
  • Pre-employment drug screening.
  • Willing to travel to jobsites if needed.


Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Most of the work is performed at a desk, or in a warehouse setting. Physical requirements of the position include walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, and always wearing appropriate PPE.
