Your Mission
HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) seeks a motivated Application Engineer 1 to join our dynamic manufacturing plant in Pompano Beach, FL. HCA specializes in producing precision compressor valves and components that power industries such as Oil & Gas. Your mission will be to configure and optimize compressor valve equipment and other key components for OEM and HOERBIGER Service customers while adhering to established design standards. By leveraging your technical expertise, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our customers and driving innovation.
How you will make a difference
  • Maintain and enhance a standard valve product portfolio for OEM accounts
  • Conduct part inspections and create detailed technical reports with actionable recommendations
  • Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely coordination and status updates in the Workflow system
  • Proactively resolve technical challenges by evaluating options, presenting solutions, and implementing decisions
  • Provide emergency technical support, including occasional travel to customer sites for critical troubleshooting (2-3 trips annually)

What you should be good at
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on evaluating trade-offs to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Strong understanding of assembly drawings, piping diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Basic knowledge of ASTM/ASME specifications, pipe flange design, and steel metallurgy
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and database querying (SQL, Excel VLOOKUP)
