Job description

Locker Engineer

Duties: Provide technical subject matter expertise, solution engineering and hands-on design work within the existing range of Traka intelligent locker products, delivering innovative solutions to real-world problems. Provide subject matter expertise sales and sales engineering teams during the entire sales process as needed for Traka intelligent locker and equipment management solutions. Create drawings, renderings, and concepts within agreed rules of engagement to support pre-sales activities to help win major projects. Deliver engineering design solutions to meet customer requirements and design specifications for existing products. Document client technical meetings and interactions in CRM system. Test and document RFID tagging solutions for specific customer assets and equipment - including visits to customer site where a sample cannot be provided. Provide technical documentation including asset tagging guides and user instructions. Generate CAD models, engineering drawings and BOM's using Autodesk Inventor 2022. Manage & life-cycle CAD data and documentation using Autodesk Vault Professional 2022. Lead projects as needed using an Agile approach and provide regular project updates to sales team and the business. Interface and work closely with central Mechanical Engineering and R&D team to align project timelines to ensure that projects are executed in a timely manner. Maintain knowledge of regional safety requirements to ensure products are designed to comply and meet specifications. Included but not limited to ADA Accessibility Guidelines.

Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study, and 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering specifically for lockers. Will accept 7 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience. Requires 5 years of experience with each of the following (or 7 years if the candidate does not have a Bachelor's degree): designing and developing mechanical systems; determining project requirement, research target audiences, usage of product and functionality; using Autodesk Inventor and Vault software to create, test and improve product designs; manufacturing process, supply chain and interaction with operations teams; evaluating production costs and strategizing the most cost effective means of productions, while maintaining product effectiveness and reliability; evaluating product in terms of appearance, performance, functionality, durability and safety; producing technical written work instructions and procedures; product manufacturing and assembly processes and procedures; product concept drawing, prototyping, testing and validating designs. Requires 3 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor product design automation and configuration tools using iLogic. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Requires up to 10% domestic travel.
