Job Overview

One of our clients is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team that specializes in design and manufacture of coil winding equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems and components on our products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving system design and manufacturing processes. The successful applicant will bring strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering principles, CAD modeling, and system integration to contribute to our company's growth and technological advancement. Must be local to the area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, including schematics and drafting documentation.

  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for designs

  • Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot mechanical failures and optimize system performance.

  • Create and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks and deliverables.

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies in accordance with ASME codes & standards, ensuring safety and reliability.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to facilitate prototype development, CNC machining, and production processes.

  • Integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs), or other control systems into mechanical designs for automation purposes.

  • Apply principles of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for precise manufacturing specifications.

  • Support system design efforts involving quantum engineering concepts where applicable.

  • Prepare technical documentation including schematics, drawings, and reports adhering to industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.

  • Proven experience with CAD software (primarily Inventor and AutoCAD) for mechanical design and drafting.

  • Experience with coil winding machinery is a major plus

  • Strong understanding of mechanical knowledge including system design, manufacturing processes, and materials selection.

  • Experience with CNC machining, and drafting standards such as GD&T.

  • Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to mechanical design and fabrication.

  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on mechanical systems and troubleshoot effectively.

  • Experience working with schematics, system design documentation, and schematic capture tools.

  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), or similar automation hardware is desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong communication abilities to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office
