Basic Job Functions:

The position will work closely with the Production Applications Supervisor and will be responsible for providing technical support for metal architectural wall systems to sales, marketing, estimating, dealer network, architects and drafting services. The metal wall systems will include, insulated metal wall panels, rain screen wall systems, single skin metal panels as well as integrated window systems for both CENTRIA and Metl-Span brands. Also, to ensure appropriate installation and to minimize future installation and performance concerns.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Provide solutions for questions related to the best application of NIPG products
  • Prepare and maintain complete detail standards and installation manuals for NIPG products.
  • Review requests and design new custom project specific detail drawings for non-standard product applications to support in-house detailing, external customers, as well as pre-sale support.
  • Assist architects and or field personnel in proper product applications via development of installation drawings and General note drawings.
  • Construct product application details to aid in design assist projects.
  • Assist with training for new and existing dealers, and NIPG teammates.
  • Provide NIPG sales team with updates on potential projects based on architectural inquiries.
  • When required, design and prepare new extrusions and die drawings.
  • Promote the use of NIPG products by guiding dealers, Reps and architects to correct product applications means and methods.
  • Will support all NIPG brand products
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Previous drafting and design experience.
  • Able to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Understanding of building science & construction.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent math and reading skills.
  • Understanding of AutoCAD version of 2015 or higher.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and other 3D software - helpful.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software.
  • Understand extrusion design and development process.
  • Willingness to gain detailed knowledge of all CENTRIA and Metl-Span product applications and limitations. As well as their fabrication and installation techniques.
  • Willing to travel as needed to NIPG manufacturing facilities and project sites.
