Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Facilities Support Technician.  The Facilities Support Technician will provide technical and administrative support for facility management operations, with a primary focus on maintaining and updating the Building Information Management System (BIMS) and developing facility drawings and documentation using AutoCAD. This role supports the facility management team by ensuring accurate data records, supporting space planning activities, and assisting with facility assessments and project coordination.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, update, and verify facility data within BIMS, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Create, modify, and manage AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, space layouts, and equipment locations.
  • Support facility condition assessments and data collection efforts, including validating asset attributes and entering updates into BIMS.
  • Assist with space utilization planning and provide updated drawings and reports to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and facility personnel to gather requirements and ensure drawings and data accurately reflect facility conditions.
  • Track and document changes to facility layouts, renovations, and equipment installations.
  • Generate reports from BIMS to support operations, safety reviews, and planning activities.
  • Support quality control checks on facility documentation, ensuring alignment between physical conditions, AutoCAD drawings, and system records.
  • Provide general technical support for facility management tools, software, and documentation workflows.
  • Maintain organized digital files and version control for all facility drawings and documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain, and maintain, a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 8 years experience in Facility Systems
  • Expert knowledge collecting, assessing, inputting, and updating BIM and AutoCAD data.
  • Hands-on execution and operation of BIM and AutoCAD software & equipment to draft, model, and maintain precise digital representations of facility infrastructure.
  • Quality control and validation of raw spatial and engineering data prior to inputting it into active BIM and AutoCAD systems.
  • CAD certification or formal training in drafting or design a plus.
  • Ability to document facility infrastructure systems with camera equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and customer coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to work with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
