Job description

Job Title: Transmission Design Engineer
Location: Reno, NV
Position Type: Contracted - 12 Months with Possible Extension
Work Type: 100% On-Site with little site travel
Pay Range: $75/-hr to $80/-hr on W2.
Job ID#: 166545

Note: A driving license is a must for this position, as there is 10% Field Travel when required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides comprehensive civil/structural engineering design services for substation and/or transmission facilities, and ensures that these facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations.
  • Provides civil engineering expertise to develop substation/civil plans for sitework, including grading, off-site improvements, drainage facilities, fencing and block walls, and landscaping.
  • In addition, completes calculations and prepares designs for substation steel structures, foundations, and control enclosures.
  • Provides civil engineering expertise to transmission line engineering design/analysis, route analysis and selection, calculations for line design (includes structure loading, foundation design and conductor sag), specifies materials and evaluates bid documents and technical submittals, and completes the construction package.
  • This position will require driving to field locations on occasion. Travel less than 10%.
Required:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD & PLS CADD.
  • Transmission or Substation Design experience (Foundation).
  • PE License is preferred.
