Job description

Overview

We are seeking a CAD Drafter I to support engineering and routing teams with drafting, design, and permitting documentation. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career with a civil engineering background and strong AutoCAD experience.



Top Requirements (Must-Haves):

  • Civil Engineering background (degree or relevant hands-on experience)
  • AutoCAD experience (daily use, creating plan sets, working from scratch)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage AutoCAD drawings for engineering and routing projects
  • Draft turning movements, site layouts, and storage/yard plans
  • Support preparation of permitting and submission documents
  • Develop full plan sets for government agency review
  • Assist engineering teams with 3D design elements (grading, profiles, cross-sections)
  • Utilize GIS data within AutoCAD as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, engineering, and operations teams
  • Participate in occasional field data collection and site visits



Preferred Experience:

  • 2–5 years of drafting or related industry experience
  • Familiarity with AutoTURN or vehicle tracking tools
  • Exposure to transportation, civil, or infrastructure-related projects
  • Basic understanding of GIS and permitting processes
