The purpose of this position is to maintain the vehicle impound. This is accomplished by completing administrative duties; and processing vehicles for impound. Other duties include providing customer service to the public.
Essential Job Functions Completes administrative duties by entering vehicle information into the computer; filling out and filing invoices; typing letters; running registrations; stuffing envelopes; placing ads in the newspaper; taking payments for impounds; maintaining daily cash flow sheet; and creating various documents. Processes vehicles for impound by verifying the vehicle identification number for each vehicle impounded; recording the license plates; and documenting any damage of the vehicle. Provides customer service by answering telephones; giving directions; and providing vehicle information, price and procedures for getting vehicles out of the pound.
Assists with the auction by preparing property for monthly sale. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Candidates should have up to 1 year's general office experience.
Previous experience in handling of evidence and property at a Police Department preferred. Working knowledge of telecommunications (NCIC, TCIC) is beneficial but not required. Valid Texas Class C driver's license required.
Must be able to pass drug screen, polygraph, psychological and background investigation.
