Zurich is hiring a Claims Specialist I to join our dynamic Auto Direct Markets Claims Team. This role offers an incredible opportunity to grow your expertise by interpreting, investigating, and evaluating auto policies and coverage issues while mastering claims handling and industry best practices.

As a Claims Specialist, you will manage auto liability property damage and Direct Market/Garagekeepers losses involving dealership inventory and vendors responsible for customer vehicles. You'll own your claims from start to finish, resolving them efficiently while building strong partnerships with customers and brokers. In doing so, you'll play a key role in Zurich's commitment to exceptional service.

Candidates for this role should be able to report on a hybrid work schedule to one of our North American Claims office locations, including: Atlanta, GA; Addison, TX; Schaumburg, IL; Omaha, NE

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area
    OR
  • Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Insurance area
    AND
  • Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products
  • Prior experience in auto claims handling, insurance claims, or a related customer service field. Understanding of auto insurance policies, coverage, and state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience handling Auto Liability Property Damage (PD) claims, including investigation, liability determination, and damage evaluation.
  • Direct experience managing Garagekeepers coverage claims, including losses involving dealership inventory and customer vehicles in the care, custody, or control of an insured.
  • Experience handling Direct Market auto claims, including third-party property damage exposures.
  • Familiarity with dealership operations, service departments, and vendor relationships impacting customer vehicle claims.
  • Strong understanding of negligence principles, subrogation, and vendor liability exposure.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting garage policies, endorsements, and coverage forms.
  • Ability to manage complex claims involving multiple parties, vendors, and disputed liability.
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry terminology
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply-your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $49,500.00 - $81,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
