Job description

JOB SUMMARY - We are seeking an experienced estimator/damage appraisal to join our team! The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in auto body repairs and maintenance to assess damages and estimate the cost. This role will work closely with the owner of the shop, technicians, insurance adjusters and customers to ensure the operation process runs smoothly and efficiently to guarantee customer service satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess damage and determine repair costs.

- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for automotive repairs, including parts, labor, and additional services (Using the CCC ONE / Mitchell software).

- Communicate with insurance adjusters to explain estimates and negotiate repairs. Estimator/appraiser must handle all communications with insurance adjusters throughout the entire repair process.

- Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process, costs, and timelines.

- Upsell additional services or repairs based on customer needs and vehicle condition.

- Work together with service technicians and other staff to order parts/supplies to ensure completion of repairs on time.

- Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, bills and customer interactions.

- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Previous experience (3 Years Preferably) in auto estimating and negotiating with insurance companies.

- Proficiency knowledge of the CCC-ONE estimating software and experience using the program. Mitchell familiarity A+

- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service while maintaining high-quality standards.

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and maintain job documentation files (customer information, estimates, recalibration reports, bills and payments).

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.

- Appraisal License (preferred but not required).

- I-CAR training or other industry training (preferred but not required).
