Insurance Estimator – Auto Collision Center

Scott Robinson Collision Center – Torrance, CA
Full-Time Position

Scott Robinson Collision Center is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Insurance Estimator / Collision Estimator to join our team. We are a family-owned and operated automotive group serving the South Bay for over 50 years and are looking for a motivated professional who can provide accurate estimates, work effectively with insurance carriers, and deliver an excellent customer experience from initial inspection through completion of repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect damaged vehicles and prepare accurate, detailed collision repair estimates.
  • Work directly with insurance companies, adjusters, customers, technicians, and parts personnel throughout the repair process.
  • Write estimates and supplements using industry-standard estimating software.
  • Document vehicle damage thoroughly with photos, repair procedures, notes, and supporting documentation.
  • Review insurance estimates and negotiate supplements when additional damage or required repair procedures are identified.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding repair status, insurance approvals, and estimated completion dates.
  • Coordinate with technicians and production staff to ensure estimates accurately reflect required repairs.
  • Research OEM repair procedures and ensure estimates include necessary operations for safe and proper repairs.
  • Monitor assigned repair orders from initial estimate through delivery.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for insurance claims and repair files.
  • Help ensure repairs meet manufacturer, insurance, and collision center quality standards.
  • Deliver a professional, efficient, and customer-focused experience.
Qualifications
  • Previous collision estimating or insurance estimating experience preferred.
  • Experience working with major insurance carriers and DRP programs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of collision repair procedures, vehicle construction, parts, refinishing, and repair-versus-replace decisions.
  • Experience with CCC ONE or similar estimating software preferred.
  • Strong computer and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to negotiate professionally with insurance adjusters and representatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple repair files and priorities in a fast-paced collision center.
  • Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • I-CAR training or certifications are a plus.
