Job description

PMC: Senior Collection Specialist
Penske Media Corp., the parent to Variety, Rolling Stone, Deadline, Robb Report, and many others is hiring a detail-oriented Senior Collection Specialist to manage the accounts receivable for several subsidiaries in our digital and print media business. This role will partner with Accounting/Finance team as well as Account Executives and Agencies and is responsible for minimizing time elapsed between invoice billing and payments collected.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Typical tasks may include (but are not limited to):
  • Contacting customers for payment of past due invoices via verbal and written communication
  • Research and resolve billing/collection related issues as they arise to ensure prompt resolution and payment
  • Reconcile the account receivable ledger to determine the payments are accurately posted
  • Follow-up on inquiries, negotiate with past due accounts and recommend accounts to be referred to outside collections agency
  • Processing invoices via client portal
  • Provide assistance to the invoice/billing team in the way of cash applications
  • Work closely with Collection Manager and Management on an ongoing basis to track collection efforts and to respond to individual requests regarding account information and/or analysis
  • Prepare and Distribute weekly reporting via Excel
  • Prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 3-5 years of Collection and/or Accounts Receivable experience
  • Detail oriented and great verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel

Preferred Experience:
  • NetSuite
  • Salesforce
  • Placements IO or Boostr
  • Minimum 2-3 years of general accounting experience
  • Bank Accounts & Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Print and/or digital media experience

A good faith estimate of the salary range is $70k - $80k upon hire + Bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
