Travelers Claim Analytics is seeking a Director, Claim Analytics Agile Product Owner to join our organization to lead a team to deliver capabilities/solutions following the agile framework. In this position you will act as a voice of the end-user to guide day-to-day work of a cross-functional team, focusing on achievement of defined outcomes versus defining how the work is completed. This Product Owner role is a unique blend of business and technical knowledge and requires connecting business needs to new technologies.
The primary focus of this position is to lead a team focusing on Auto Line of Business analytics. The auto insurance landscape is rapidly evolving with advances in telematics, connected vehicle data, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and emerging trends in electric and autonomous vehicles. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are transforming auto claims processing-from automated damage assessment using computer vision to predictive models for fraud detection, subrogation potential, and claim severity. This role offers the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge analytics and AI-driven solutions to transform how we assess auto claims, optimize repair processes, and enhance customer experience in one of our most dynamic lines of business.
As a key member of our Agile team, the Product Owner will assist in influencing the business's analytics direction in alignment with our broader enterprise strategy. This role requires partnering with Auto Claim business partners to further our perform and transform strategies through use of better-quality data and information delivery using analytics and AI to prove outcomes of these strategies.
You will apply modern product practices including design thinking, lean startup methodologies, and agile frameworks to develop analytics and AI-powered solutions. Through engaging auto claim stakeholders via research, interviews, and surveys, you'll identify data needs and pain points specific to auto claims processing, fraud detection, severity prediction, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have claim experience, particularly in auto, to influence the business's data and information delivery direction in line with our key auto claim priorities.
This can include capabilities such as interactive dashboards tracking auto claim metrics, self-service analytics for adjusters and managers, embedded analytics within claim workflows, AI-powered predictive models for auto loss trends, machine learning algorithms for automated triage and routing, natural language processing for claims documentation, computer vision for vehicle damage assessment, and telematics-driven insights-all developed in alignment with best practices and supported by robust data warehouse/mart development.
The Product Owner is adept at problem solving, effective at communicating with business stakeholders and Senior Leaders, strong at analytic thinking, and committed to continuous learning-staying current with automotive industry trends, AI and machine learning advancements, emerging technologies, and analytics techniques while sharing knowledge across teams. You will define product metrics, actively seek feedback from implemented features, and use data-driven insights to continuously refine the product roadmap and maximize value for our auto claim business partners.What Will You Do?
  • Define, prioritize and ensure a ready backlog of work for a cross-functional product team, accept final product output, focusing on achievement of defined outcomes versus defining how the work is completed.
  • Effectively manage a backlog of deliverables and capabilities as well as 'test and learn'/experimentation targeted at defining/refining future deliverables, measuring performance and adjusting the overall roadmap of deliverables as needed.
  • Translate business strategies and needs into execution ready work for an Agile product team; define team goals and strategy, ensuring alignment with circle and value stream vision; Articulate team goals and strategy effectively to key stakeholders, Circle Leads, and team members.
  • Act as voice of the end-user; have a deep understanding of and anticipate and proactively seek customer feedback ensuring needs and requirements are clearly defined; ensure team work product meets defined acceptance criteria.
  • Own team backlog, including prioritization and refinement; Make trade-off decisions to maximize value.
  • Optimize the flow of value by setting objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for solutions.
  • Inform and participate in business readiness; understand the impact of change, translate the approach to manage adoption and mitigate resistance.
  • Provide feedback on work-in-progress, clarify requirements and contribute to removing roadblocks or impediments; Look for opportunities for continuous team and process improvement.
