Job Description: Estimator - Body Shop
Position Title: Estimator
Department: Body Shop
Reports To: Body Shop Manager/Owner
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage and providing accurate cost estimates to customers. This role involves thorough vehicle inspections, preparation of detailed repair plans, and clear communication with both customers and insurance companies. The Estimator works closely with technicians, suppliers, and insurance adjusters to ensure the seamless execution of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Damage Assessment:
    • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify the extent of damage.
    • Use estimating software and industry-standard guides to generate accurate repair estimates.
    • Photograph damage and document vehicle conditions for reference.
  • Estimate Preparation:
    • Create detailed repair plans, outlining labor, parts, materials, and time required for each job.
    • Collaborate with technicians to ensure the accuracy of estimates and assess the feasibility of repairs.
    • Communicate with parts suppliers to obtain pricing information and availability.
  • Customer Communication:
    • Explain estimates and the repair process to customers in a clear and professional manner.
