Job description

SYNERGY HomeCare of Lee-Pontotoc County is seeking compassionate, patient, and dependable Caregivers to support autistic adults in living safe, meaningful, and more independent lives.

We’re looking for caregivers who understand that every person with autism is unique. This role is about building trust, respecting individual preferences, supporting communication, and creating a comfortable environment where each client can be themselves.

What You’ll Do

As an autism-focused caregiver, you may:

  • Provide compassionate, one-on-one support to autistic adults

  • Assist with activities of daily living while encouraging independence

  • Support clients with routines, transitions, and daily activities

  • Provide companionship and meaningful engagement based on each client’s interests

  • Encourage communication and self-advocacy in ways that work for the individual

  • Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and community activities

  • Help maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment

  • Recognize and respect sensory preferences and individual needs

  • Follow each client’s personalized care plan and established routines

  • Communicate with families and the care team regarding client needs and progress

The Caregiver We’re Looking For

Experience working with autism, developmental disabilities, special education, behavioral support, direct support, or caregiving a caring attitude and willingness to learn are just as important is required.
