Job description

The Autism Society of North Carolina is hiring a DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE to develop and implement strategies for the identification, cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship of current and prospective donors with a special focus on event sponsorship and major gifts.
What You'll Do:
  • Identify, recruit, cultivate, solicit, and appreciate donors.
  • Maintain and grow ongoing external relationships with current sponsors and build and maintain strong external relationships with potential sponsors.
  • Manage statewide corporate sponsorship program with current and potential corporate partners.
  • Secure event sponsorship for fundraising events.
  • In-Kind donation recruitment and management for fundraising events.
  • Assist and attend statewide run/walks and other events as assigned and assist with awareness events and non-annual fundraising events as assigned.
  • Database and records management in RaisersEdge, TeamRaiser, etc.
  • This is a revenue generating position with specific goals and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Based in or near the Triangle area and willing to travel locally; ability to work in individualized and/or shared workspaces
  • Ability to develop interpersonal and relationship building skills, ability to coordinate many relationships and events simultaneously.
  • Strong communication abilities including public speaking skills.
  • Organized, detail oriented, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment.
