Job description

Receptionist

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for customers, visitors, vendors, and internal staff. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, handling incoming calls, coordinating package and document distribution, and ensuring a professional, organized, and secure reception environment. The Receptionist plays a key role in supporting daily operations by facilitating communication across departments and delivering a positive customer experience.

Starting Rate: Minimum: $13.00/hr. - Midpoint: $17.00/hr.

Retention Bonus: $1000.00

Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the United States immediately. This position is not available for H1-B visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome customers, visitors, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Check in customers and direct them to appropriate Customer Service Center (CSC) areas for assistance
  • Answer and manage incoming calls on the main telephone line, determine caller needs, and route calls appropriately
  • Utilize internal directories to connect callers with the correct departments or personnel
  • Receive, log, and distribute incoming deliveries, and packages
  • Ensure all packages and documents are secured and tracked until picked up by the intended recipient
  • Obtain signatures upon package pickup and maintain accurate distribution records
  • Coordinate with internal departments to notify staff of visitor arrivals and deliveries
  • Maintain organization and security of the storage area
  • Monitor and replenish office and reception supplies; place orders as needed
  • Support communication between front desk, operations, and administrative teams
  • Ensure compliance with company policies related to security, package handling, and visitor management
  • Provide general administrative support as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor
  • Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume, fast-paced front desk environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Basic problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly in dynamic situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment (phones, copiers, etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer-facing role
  • Experience handling multi-line phone systems and front desk operations
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a high-volume customer service environment
  • Experience in transportation, tolling, or public service industries
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Familiarity with office supply management and vendor coordination
