Job description

Position Summary
The Kenosha County District Attorney's Office is recruiting to fill multiple full-time Assistant District Attorney (ADA) positions. These are State positions in the unclassified service.
Kenosha County is centrally located on I-94 between Milwaukee and Chicago. Milwaukee is approximately 45 minutes to the north, making an easy commute. Kenosha has a Metra train station putting Chicago just 1 hour 15 minutes away.
The City of Kenosha is located on beautiful Lake Michigan, which has beautiful beaches, lakeshore walkways, splashpads, parks and sand dunes. Kenosha County has inland lakes, many with beaches of their own and access for boating and fishing. Visiting the Village of Pleasant Prairie? Enjoy the Recplex and beautiful Lake Andrea. Lake Andrea has a 2.25 mile walking/running/biking path, fishing, a beach and picnicking. The northside of Kenosha County has Petrifying Springs County Park with a Biergarten that hosts outdoor movie nights. Have children? Visit the Dream Playground on Kenosha's northside. The County has many more activities and locations perfect for the outdoor enthusiast.

The Kenosha County District Attorney's Office consists of the District Attorney, Deputy District Attorney, 17 full-time Assistant District Attorney's and one-half-time Assistant District Attorney. In addition, there are 15 support staff consisting of paralegals and legal secretaries, and six Victim Witness Specialists and an office investigator. Kenosha County utilizes a vertical prosecution model. In addition to criminal matters, the office handles CHIPS, Guardianships and TPR cases. The attorney hired to fill this position will be given the opportunity to handle all types of criminal cases.
Salary Information
The starting salary for the position will be $80,267 annually ($38.59 per hour).
Job Details
Attorneys who are currently employed by the State of Wisconsin are invited to apply and may be able to transfer at their current pay rate. Attorneys who have left the position of Wisconsin elected District Attorney or Assistant District Attorney within the last five years may be able to be hired at a wage rate above the minimum.
Qualifications
Only attorneys who have been admitted to practice law in the State of Wisconsin may be hired.
