Join JRC's DIVISION Missiles and Space Team! The Support Equipment & Simulator (SE & Sim) Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering LOC missile support equipment and simulators to support LOC missile handling, training, processing, and integration activities. This position is responsible for coordinating with the Shipboard and System-level integration teams to define requirements, schedules, delivery and usage of AUR Electronic Simulators (AURES) and AUR Simulators (AURS). This position is responsible to coordinate with the Facilities branch (SP048) to define requirements and schedules for LOC Missile Support Equipment (SE) required to support Strategic Weapons Facility (SWF) missile operations. Supports the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Program Protection Manager with the review of the Program Protection Implementation Plan (PPIP) and assist in managing the Program Protection Plan (PPP) for SSP command and field activities. Familiarity with implementing a complex Program Protection Program across a DoN command that integrates all security efforts throughout the entire life cycle of its systems and programs. Provides support to the customer by reviewing and developing command specific Program Protection material. Supports all projects and initiatives and responds to requests for information, compiles comments, tracks action items, and archives project communications. What You'll Do * Serve as the lead engineer to manage design, modification, procurement, and activation of missile subsystem Support Equipment (SE). * Serve as the lead engineer to manage design, modifications, procurement and delivery of missile subsystem simulators for weapon system development and system-level test & certification. * Work collaboratively with other branches to define and plan for SE and Simulator deliveries to support training, activation, and integration testing. * Work collaboratively with missile section engineers and contracts and finance lead to estimate, fund, schedule, and manage delivery of SE and Simulators. * Develop requirements, tasking, and plans, and manage execution with the prime contractor (RTX) to deliver support equipment on schedule. * Develop requirements, tasking, and plans, and manage execution with the AURES / AURS provider (NUWC) to deliver simulators on schedule * Support system-level testing activities at prime contractor and Navy facilities * Support SE installation, training, and facility activation at the Strategic Weapons Facilities (SWF). * Support development, updates, and management if integrated schedules and risk management and mitigation activities related to missile SE and test. * Mentor peers, support personnel, and junior staff on the purpose, requirements, usage, and capabilities of missile SE and Simulator suite. What You Bring to the Table * Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or related discipline). * Minimum 7 years of experience in defense system engineering with 2 years in technical leadership role on an MDAP. * Knowledge of and experience with Missile or Ordnance handling equipment * Knowledge of missile or weapon system simulators for system test * Knowledge of the DoD 5000-series acquisition policies, including DoDI 5000.88 and 5000.02. * Demonstrated experience in missile systems design, integration, and verification. * Strong communication skills and ability to interface with OSD, Service PAEs, and FFRDC stakeholders. * Active or recently adjudicated Top Secret clearance. Bonus Points * Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. * DAWIA Advanced Certification in Engineering or Program Management. * INCOSE CSEP/ESEP certification. * Knowledge of OPNAVINST 3600.3C, Policy for the material and tactical certification of cruise missile capable surface ships and submarines. * Knowledge of NAVSEA OP 2173, Handling Equipment for Weapons and Explosives * Experience supporting nuclear-capable or strategic missile programs. Additional Information: This position requires regular interaction with senior DoW, FFRDC, and industry leadership. Travel (~50%) to test ranges, contractor facilities, weapons facilities, and government labs is required to support technical and programmatic reviews, integration events, and milestone readiness assessments.
