What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Augmented Reality Sales professional, and why are they important?

To succeed in Augmented Reality (AR) Sales, you need a strong background in sales strategies, product knowledge of AR technologies, and a relevant degree in business, marketing, or technology. Familiarity with AR platforms, CRM software (like Salesforce), and presentation tools is typically required, and certifications in AR or digital sales can be advantageous. Outstanding communication, consultative selling abilities, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for building client relationships and navigating a rapidly evolving tech landscape. These skills enable professionals to effectively demonstrate AR solutions, address client needs, and drive sales growth in a competitive market.

How does an Augmented Reality Sales professional typically collaborate with product development and marketing teams?

Augmented Reality Sales professionals often work closely with product development and marketing teams to tailor AR solutions that meet client needs. They provide feedback from clients and industry trends to inform product features, and help create compelling sales materials or demonstrations. Collaboration is key, as sales teams rely on marketing for lead generation and on product developers for technical support during client pitches or installations. This teamwork ensures that client expectations are met and that the AR solutions delivered are both innovative and practical.

What is Augmented Reality Sales?

Augmented Reality Sales refers to the use of augmented reality (AR) technology to enhance the sales process, allowing customers to visualize products in their own environment using smartphones, tablets, or AR devices. Sales professionals in this field leverage AR tools to demonstrate product features, offer interactive experiences, and provide personalized recommendations, making it easier for customers to make informed buying decisions. This approach can increase engagement, reduce returns, and create a more immersive shopping experience, especially in industries like retail, real estate, and automotive sales.

AccuWeather | Broadcast & Emerging Media Technology

AccuWeather is seeking a high-performing, strategic Senior Account Executive to lead sales for ImmersiCastโ„ข, our revolutionary next-generation weather presentation platform transforming broadcast television through immersive augmented reality. This is not another weather graphics system. ImmersiCastโ„ข is redefining how television stations communicate weather by combining cinematic augmented reality, advanced visualization, and real-time meteorological intelligence into one groundbreaking platform built specifically for live television. Powered by Unreal Engine and AccuWeather's industry-leading weather data, ImmersiCastโ„ข enables broadcasters to create unforgettable, immersive weather storytelling experiences that dramatically elevate viewer engagement.

The ideal candidate is an experienced media technology sales leader with a proven track record selling enterprise broadcast solutions, developing strategic relationships with television station groups, and introducing innovative technology to the market.

About ImmersiCastโ„ข

ImmersiCastโ„ข catapults weather presentations into the AI- and immersive-media era.

The platform combines:

  • Advanced augmented reality visualization
  • Real-time weather intelligence
  • Broadcast-grade rendering technology
  • Fully integrated hardware, software, and data services
  • Flexible deployment as a standalone system or enhancement to existing weather platforms

With ImmersiCastโ„ข, meteorologists can step inside storms, interact with weather elements in three-dimensional space, and guide viewers through forecasts in ways traditional presentations simply cannot match.

From hurricanes and tornadoes to lightning, flooding, and severe weather events, ImmersiCastโ„ข makes complex weather easier to understand, more impactful, and visually unforgettable.

Why This Opportunity Matters

Every station presents the weather similarly today. ImmersiCastโ„ข gives broadcasters the ability to differentiate themselves in a highly competitive media environment with immersive storytelling technology their competitors may not yet have access to.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Introduce a category-defining broadcast technology platform
  • Work directly with major television groups and media executives
  • Help shape the future of weather presentation
  • Sell a premium, innovation-driven solution backed by the most recognized weather brand in the world

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth for ImmersiCastโ„ข and StoryTeller NewsPro across local television and broadcast media organizations
  • Develop strategic relationships with station groups, news directors, chief meteorologists, and broadcast technology leaders
  • Lead consultative sales efforts from prospecting through closing
  • Present high-impact demonstrations of immersive augmented reality workflows and capabilities
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, meteorology, and technology teams to support customer success
  • Represent AccuWeather at industry events including NAB, IBC, and regional broadcast conferences

Ideal Experience

  • Proven success selling broadcast technology, media solutions, graphics systems, or enterprise software
  • Strong relationships within the television broadcast industry
  • Experience selling innovative or transformational technology solutions
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and executive communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, innovation-driven environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally in the media, broadcast, production, or technology space.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales quotas and building long-term client relationships.
  • Outstanding presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to manage the full sales cycle independently.
  • Must be able to travel up to 75%.

If you are a highly motivated, organized, and dynamic professional with the skills and experience to excel in this role, we invite you to join our team and make a significant impact on our organization's success.
