What is an audit associate?

An audit associate provides technical and clerical support for a lead auditor to help examine and verify an organization’s processes or financial information. Under the supervision of an audit department, your duties as an associate auditor include planning and carrying out aspects of an internal audit aimed at improving the efficiency or financial health of a company. In addition to providing accounting assistance, you may conduct interviews with employees and create reports of findings for the auditing department. Qualifications for a career as an audit associate include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, statistics, or a related field, as well as relevant job experience. You'll partner with teams across the university to deliver outstanding service and maintain compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support student registration, scheduling, classroom assignments, and academic records management.
  • Maintain accurate student records throughout the student lifecycle.
  • Process transfer credit evaluations, attendance, grades, degree completion, and enrollment verifications.
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional academic policies.
  • Generate and analyze reports, including attendance, final grades, high-risk student reports, and other operational metrics.
  • Partner with Admissions, Academic Affairs, Student Success, Financial Aid, and other departments to provide a seamless student experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve registrar processes, increase efficiency, and reduce operational risk.
  • Assist with audits, accreditation activities, reporting requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff while balancing accuracy, confidentiality, and responsiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Sound judgment when handling confidential student information.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for serving students.
  • A continuous improvement mindset focused on simplifying processes and reducing risk.

Why You'll Love It Here

We know that when our people feel supported, they do their best work-and that directly impacts our students.

That's why we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and balance:

  • Generous self-directed PTO policy
  • Paid holidays
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
