Role Description The Audio Visual Technician is a part-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and striking audio, video, and lighting equipment for a wide range of events, including private celebrations and public performances. Day-to-day tasks include configuring AV systems, positioning and focusing lighting fixtures, setting up projectors and screens, and ensuring reliable video conferencing and playback as needed. The Audio Visual Technician will troubleshoot technical issues during events, perform basic equipment maintenance, and coordinate with event producers, DJs, bands, and venue staff to deliver smooth, high-quality experiences. The role also involves loading in and out gear, following safety protocols, and providing professional, client-focused support on-site.

  • Experience with Video Conferencing platforms and related hardware for hybrid or virtual event components.
  • Hands-on experience with Lighting equipment, including programming, focusing, and basic design implementation.
  • Ability to deploy and operate Projectors and display systems for presentations, visuals, and video content.
  • Working knowledge of live sound fundamentals (microphones, mixers, speakers) is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to lift and move event equipment, stand for extended periods, and work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a client-service mindset and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in events, production, or stage tech roles preferred; relevant certifications or training in AV or live sound are a plus.
  • Reliable transportation to venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
