Job description

This is not an entry level role. The ideal candidate for this position has 3 or more years of relevant work experience as an A/V technician.

Audio Visual Technician

BrightPipe is seeking to add an audio visual technician to our team. This role is very important as you will be the face of our company, working directly with our clients at remote locations. Ideal candidates have a strong technical background and are interested in anything and everything to do with computers and mobile devices. If you love hands-on time with a variety of technologies while working with people, then you are a great fit. We are seeking someone who is excellent with handling many details, able to multitask without dropping assignments, and enjoys a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. If you are mature, responsible, able to travel, and have a positive attitude we would love to talk to you.

BrightPipe provides audio visual services to the tradeshow and event industry. Many of our clients consider our work to be the ‘gold standard.’ Some clients have used our services for over twenty years. Winning in this role looks like:

- Travel across the country to deploy a mix of AV equipment, broadband internet, mobile devices and proprietary solutions at tradeshows and events
- Support equipment during show hours while advancing internal projects
- Troubleshooting technology issues and offering solutions to problems
- Work with and occasionally manage other tradespeople such as local labor providers
- Participate in pre-show packing process to ensure accurate equipment deployment
- Assist clients and their agencies in testing content prior to events
- Participate in testing of internally built software
- Research new audio visual equipment and making purchase recommendations
- Author documentation and procedures for new equipment and software
- Refurbish equipment and update inventory system from event to event


Skills and tools needed to succeed:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Windows and iOS operating systems
- Familiar with basic network troubleshooting and administration
- Able to follow equipment deployment and refurbish procedures
- Proficient in hardware/software repair and diagnostics
- Able to multitask and keep up with details
- Flexible with change
