Description
Under the direction of the Town Clerk, a part-time employee is needed to operate the Town's audio-video system for live broadcast for the Town Council, Planning Commission, Windsor Unified School District (WUSD), Parks and Recreation, Public Art Advisory Commission, and Senior Citizen Advisory Commission meetings on the local Public Access Cable Channel, via Zoom and using the Town's internet streaming service (Granicus). Experience troubleshooting hardware and/or network issues is required. Experience operating multiple cameras, video screens, and related electronic equipment for meetings and other presentations is also necessary.
The Town Council meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Planning Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month beginning at 5:30 p.m. The WUSD meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month. The Public Art Advisory Commission meets on the first Monday of the month at 11:00 a.m. The Senior Citizen Advisory Commission meets quarterly. On occasions, there are special meetings on alternating days. Council and Commission meetings end at varying times from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions
  • Functions as operator of A/V equipment including digital projectors, digital and analog consoles, microphones, video decks, video cameras, digital audio recorders and PCs/Macs
  • Set up and shut down A/V equipment (monitors, microphones, etc.) as needed
  • Maintains knowledge and inventory of A/V and other event-related equipment
  • Provides A/V services as instructed by Town Manager/Town Clerk
  • Sets up and runs sound equipment for panelists, lectures, meetings, and/or live music in Council Chambers and other Town sites as needed.
  • Monitors and mixes audio feeds for auxiliary sends
  • Supports PowerPoint, Keynote and other presentation formats
  • Communicates technical issues to Town staff and A/V vendors.
  • Coordinates onsite third-party A/V vendors, including recording and broadcast service providers
  • Performs A/V maintenance tasks as assigned

Typical Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Proficient audio-visual presentation experience in live event and meeting settings
  • Proficiency in basic networking and Internet Protocol Skills.
  • Proficiency with video file formats, projection resolutions, and aspect ratios
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and early mornings
  • Proactive approach to solving problems and creating solutions
  • Proficiency with Mac & PC computers, PowerPoint, Google Docs, VLC, and Skype Software.
  • Experience with Tricaster,AMX recievers, Biamp Audio Recievers, Shure Microphone Systems, and Leightronix video recording
  • Experience with web-casting services and video conferencing preferred
  • Audio recording and editing skills preferred
  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move heavy furniture and equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
