Job description

The Event Project Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages day-to-day project logistics and event execution with internal clients, creating event marketing efficiencies for Citi across all business units.
  • Collaborates with business unit managers on event strategies and special projects, solution oriented.
  • Generates ideas to expand client perceptions to help drive results and capture cost savings.
  • Manages all logistical details p pertaining to event attendees and presenters.
  • Ensures program branding (marketing materials, signage, and displays) at all events meet Citi requirements and marketing/branding goals.
  • Develops and implements methods to evaluate overall event value to the business.
  • Maintains accurate budgets for meetings that will generate ROI and manage metrics reporting details.
  • Supports all CEMP (Citi Expense Management) initiatives, event risk evaluation's; reconcile program invoices and event final cost reporting.
  • Partners with colleagues and vendors on details regarding venue logistics and execution, transportation details, audio visual equipment, etc.
  • Reviews and negotiates contracts to receive the best possible rates.
  • Partners with Citi technology and audio visual services to ensure appropriate equipment is included for all programs. Work directly with dedicated technicians; secure video conferencing, video recording and all pertinent meeting related equipment. Partner with outside vendors for onsite audiovisual and technology support at non Citi venues. Excellent negotiating skills a must.
  • Initiates development of web registration sites with web developer; reviews content to ensure accuracy; responds to attendee inquiries noted on registration forms; provide reports to client on a consistent basis indicating changes or updates.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • 5-8 years of experience in Event Marketing or Hospitality Industry
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills to handle projects that have long and short lead times
  • Excellent relationship management skills with proven success in being people-focused
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Education:
  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
