Job description

Input Technology Solutions is currently seeking a highly skilled AV Technician to support The Office of Information Technology of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s (USHMM) digital technologies, programs, and events. The candidate needs audio-visual expertise and exceptional customer service to work in this full-time role with USHMM’s audio-visual team.

Location:

The Office of Information Technology of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, DC

Responsibilities:

  • Turn on the temporary and permanent exhibits and perform daily inspection walkthrough of all audio visual technology to ensure proper operation.
  • Make exhibits available for early or late visits (before/after normal hours of operation).
  • Assist in the installation of projectors, monitors, and other AV equipment.
  • Replace projector bulbs when applicable.
  • Perform routine system maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain equipment inventory.
  • Setup classrooms, conference spaces and other areas in the museum for meetings and presentations, staff training (laptop setups), video conferencing, portable sound systems, and audio recording.
  • Set up of captioning equipment in museum theaters.
  • Adjust audio levels for both the theater audience and Live-Stream audience.
  • Set four camera views for Live-Stream and recording.
  • Assist with setting up of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Work with outside contractors for special events set up.
  • Set up video conferencing / streaming for hybrid programs.
  • Support museum staff with video conferencing, as needed.
  • Manage client recordings.
  • Reformat recordings for event stakeholders and other departmental staff, as needed.
  • Assist with the planning, installation and post-implementation management of temporary exhibits’ AV systems.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience with audio visual systems integration or service.
  • Candidates should be driven, methodical, focused, have strong troubleshooting skills and possess the ability to self-manage and work independently without close supervision.
  • CTS certification or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to act as technical lead for special events.
  • Experience operating video switcher (SDI, NDI).
  • Experience mixing live sound with digital mixing consoles.
  • Experience supporting hybrid video conference meetings.
  • Ability to read and follow AV system flow diagrams and support documentation.
  • Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking & ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Live event experience is a plus.
  • Experience configuring/troubleshooting audio DSP’s (Biamp/ QSC/Clearone) a plus.
  • Dante and AVOIP experience a plus.

Schedule:

  • Sunday-Thursday (8am-4pm EST)
