Restaurant Shift Manager

 Job Description – Shift Manager

Supervision Received and Exercised
Reports directly to the General Manager.
 Exercises direct supervision of 15-50 employees.

Essential Job Functions
Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Exhibit, cultivate, and enforce a sense of pride and relentless commitment to each step of preparing Guthrie’s menu items for service.
  • Foster a culture of hospitality and quality to attract and retain the best talent.
  • Be an ambassador for the brand, building strategic relationships within the community to build a conspicuous reputation of quality and hospitality throughout our communities.
  • Support the General Manager in all efforts related to shift performance, including labor deployment and inventory management.
  • Review performance daily, taking time to calibrate each day and correspondingly coach and celebrate with your team.
  • Provide leadership by generating excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment toward company objectives.
  • Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description.

Compensation Classification
Hourly, Non-Exempt

Non-Essential Job Functions
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
  • Walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
  • Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. overhead
Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
  • Making observations
  • Communicating with others
  • Reading and writing

Position Requirements
  • Work a 35-45 hour week
  • In-store training program completed
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must possess a state-issued driver’s license and maintain reliable means of transportation

Working Conditions
  • Restaurant environment: Work with advanced kitchen and front-of-house operational equipment, including maintenance and operations of deep fryers.
  • Office environment: Work with computers and office equipment.
  • Essential job functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
