Role Summary

The Aptitude Foreman will perform a variety of technical installations on projects and ensure that the planned work is performed efficiently and effectively with all connections working as expected. This position will be responsible for completing tasks personally and supervising a crew. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

APTITUDE FOREMAN FAMILY - CORE
    Manages small crews of employees delivering Intelligent Integration work.
    Reads and understands blueprints, specifications, and drawings.
    Functions as an interface with construction operations team, various trade partners, and customers.
    Plans and schedules designated work scopes and orders appropriate materials to ensure cost and schedule are maintained.
    Provides oversight and responsible for performing a variety of technical installations including cable installation and termination, fiber optic splicing and terminations, feeder cross connectivity, communication room buildout, communication room patching from switch to patch panel/LIU as needed and required on specific scopes of work.
    Functions as a subject matter expert in one or more of the various technical systems and integrates the connections between the systems including cable, fire alarm, security, audio visual, building automation, network infrastructure.
    Tracks and reports labor hours.
    Maintains proper care of tools and equipment necessary to support technical installations specific to a project.
    Leads and monitors safety and security procedures within the crew.
    Establishes crew sizes that align with production goals.
    Documents key information such as activities, productions and crew sizes.
    Communicates with suppliers and coordinates delivery of supplies to jobsite.
    Understands and maintains established quality levels associated with duties.
    Supports project QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks.
    Participates in all safety activities such as toolbox talks, job hazard analysis, job site analysis and SIMS (Site Information Management System) reporting.
    Creates and implements safety plans and ensures compliance through use of training, toolbox talks and communication with safety representatives.
    Provides on-the-job guidance and willingly shares expertise in order to support team member learning and development.
    Coordinates inspections for assigned scope of work.
    Creates, communicates, monitors and achieves crew production goals.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Vocational/Technical degree in related field (Preferred)
Experience
  • 1+ years commercial construction experience
  • 2+ years field supervision experience
  • BICSI certification or 4 years experience in cable pilling (Preferred)
Working Environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May require periods of travel
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
  • Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling
