Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The AV Service Technician will provide service-level attention to meet customer needs, with keen foresight and knowledge to predict issues before they arise. You may be on point for all types of pre-and post-integration service and support. Your ability to communicate regularly and effectively with your customers, teammates, and internal resources will be paramount to your success.

Impyrian looks for core competencies and characteristics of both self-starters balanced with being a team player. You work with integrity with limited direction and supervision and have excellent planning, time management, and communication skills. You are comfortable with proactive communication and providing answers and status updates to the customers' questions before they ask. You are solutions-oriented and have the technical expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose issues and provide recommended solutions and alternatives that meet the customers' needs.

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electronic equipment such as audio, video, sound, lighting, and projection systems, as well as other systems as required.
  • Thorough knowledge of protocols and AV design, including signal flow, H.323, H.264, SIP, WebRTC, and H.239 duo-video, video bridging and gateways, and applicable platforms, including WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
  • Networking experience with setup and servicing commercial-grade networking devices: Waps, Routers, Wi-Fi bridges, Managed switches, and VLANs
  • Responsible for installing, terminating, and optimizing the cabling, associated devices, computers, digital technology, and commercial off-the-shelf technologies as required by scope and design.
  • Excellent knowledge of networking addressing schemes and network integration. Experience in IP cameras, and IP access control. Must have experience in PTZ camera installation and servicing.
  • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Work directly with customers to investigate, troubleshoot, and diagnose technical product problems.
  • Provide written customer-ready documentation of all analyses performed with root cause/corrective actions identified.
  • Must be Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) and CTS-I certified for this position.

Required Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience installing and supporting A/V systems and digital signage solutions

Technical Skills:

  • Must be Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) and CTS-I certified for this position.
  • Technical Degree or equivalent experience
  • AVIXA, Crestron, Extron, BiAmp, or AMX knowledge preferred; certifications a plus!
  • Knowledge of construction documentation and blueprint reading
  • Experience working with multiple departments and managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of Crestron, Extron, and AMX is a plus.
  • Driver’s license required, safe driving record.
  • Ability to attain and retain a suitability clearance

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience supporting government customers on-site in government facilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or workstation.
  • Prolonged use of a computer and keyboard, including typing and using a mouse.
