The Buyer, Audio & Video is responsible for the execution, management, and optimization of audio and video media campaigns across television, radio, online video (OLV), streaming, and audio platforms. This role plays a critical part in translating media strategies into effective media buys, ensuring campaigns are activated accurately, delivered efficiently, and optimized to achieve client objectives.

The Buyer works closely with Media Planning, Media Operations, Analytics, and Media Partners to negotiate, execute, monitor, and reconcile media investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Executes and manages audio and video media buys across TV, Radio, Connected TV (CTV), Streaming Audio, Podcasts, and Online Video (OLV).

  • Develops and evaluates media recommendations, tactical plans, and buying approaches that align with client objectives and budget requirements.

  • Leads negotiations with media vendors to secure competitive pricing, added value opportunities, preferred inventory, and optimal campaign delivery.

  • Maintains strong relationships with media partners and leverages those relationships to maximize client value and campaign performance.

  • Coordinates campaign activation, implementation, trafficking requirements, and ongoing maintenance with internal teams and external partners.

  • Monitors campaign pacing, delivery, audience performance, ratings, and inventory utilization to ensure objectives are achieved.

  • Identifies optimization opportunities and makes data-driven recommendations to improve campaign performance against client KPIs.

  • Conducts audience, market, competitive, and media consumption research to support buying decisions and media recommendations.

  • Reviews post-buy analyses, performance reports, and key campaign metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Supports client reporting by developing clear, concise, and compelling commentary on campaign results and optimization strategies.

  • Manages buy authorizations, revisions, approvals, and documentation throughout the campaign lifecycle.

  • Collaborates with Media Operations and Finance teams to ensure accurate budget management, billing, reconciliations, and financial tracking.

  • Maintains accurate media buy information within planning and buying systems.

  • Supports planning teams with marketplace intelligence, new opportunities, industry trends, and vendor capabilities.

  • Participates in client meetings, internal presentations, and media partner discussions as required.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Media, Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

  • 2-4 years of media buying, media planning, media operations, or related advertising experience.

  • Experience managing audio and video campaigns across broadcast, streaming, digital video, and audio platforms.

  • Strong understanding of television, radio, online video, connected TV, streaming audio, and media marketplace dynamics.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis), PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience with broadcast and media industry tools such as Lens, InfoSys, DDS, AdTraq, Numeris, and related planning/buying platforms is considered a strong asset.
