Position Summary

The Audio Visual Coordinator is responsible for assistance with installation and maintenance of hardware, software, and peripherals for TD Coliseum technology functions on a day-to-day basis as well as providing support for event-specific A/V needs. Additionally, they will collaborate with venue leadership and IT personnel to establish venue strategy for A/V technology systems in the venue that supports the fan experience. This position requires availability during nonstandard working hours, including weekends and holidays.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $28.00 CAD

Benefits for Part-Time roles: Pension matching.

The new TD Coliseum will be the centerpiece of a premier music, sports, and live entertainment destination in Southwestern Ontario, delivering a premium event and hospitality experience for all. Boasting 18,000 seats, state-of-the-art technology, and unparalleled programming expertise, the new Hamilton Arena is set to become a more competitive player in attracting the world's leading touring artists. The reimagined arena will have exceptional features that will provide countless memories for attendees.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the teams responsible for the installation and maintenance of onsite hardware and software, including workstations, multimedia displays, and video conference system support
  • Help manage the systems and technologies that support A/V technology for the venue and business (Device Management, etc.)
  • Provide technical leadership and support for all onsite staff and contractors
  • Understand and support event operations of all digital signage and audio systems, including stadium communications, digital advertising, and event-specific needs
  • Assist and support long-term planning for technology systems throughout its lifecycle
  • Diagnose and repair issues, contacting management and appropriate service vendors when necessary
  • Maintain efficient equipment storage and inventory for all A/V assets
  • Report any system failures to Venue Leadership promptly
  • Document process/procedures and label equipment as needed
  • Help manage an equipment preventative maintenance program
  • Effectively organize and schedule upgrades/maintenance in collaboration with venue, event, and operations schedules
  • Support a wide range of physical cabling and wireless infrastructure (Fiber / Copper / AV / Broadcast / Wireless)
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
  • Improve programming and maintenance of the technical infrastructure over time
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • 1-2+ years of experience in an Audio/Visual role preferably in the events and sports/entertainment industry
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 tools and Office suite
  • Demonstrated experience with A/V integration software and the hardware it relies on
  • Experience with TriplePlay software and Daktronics displays is preferable
  • Proficiency with MacOS and Windows operating systems, hardware, and peripherals
  • Proficiency with Client-Server infrastructure and on-site support
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols and troubleshooting
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Effectively work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent follow-through skills
  • Excellent documentation and process skills
  • Possess knowledge and experience in industry terminology, event-related services, facility capabilities, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility
