The first Sphere opened in Las Vegas, with a second venue planned for Abu Dhabi. In addition, the company includes MSG Networks, which operates two regional sports and entertainment networks, MSG Network and MSG Sportsnet, as well as a directโ€‘toโ€‘consumer and authenticated streaming product, MSG+, delivering a wide range of live sports content and other programming.

Overview

We are seeking a VP, Sphere Audio Technology Operations to provide strategic leadership of the operational excellence of one of the worldโ€™s most advanced audio technology ecosystems spanning multiple venues and entertainment environments. The role sits at the intersection of artistry, technology, and largeโ€‘scale production, partnering with engineering, product development, production, content creators, and venue leadership to continuously elevate the immersive audio experience.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for audio technology operations and optimization, including Sphere immersive sound, integration of thirdโ€‘party technologies, enterpriseโ€‘wide audio infrastructure (Media Plane, Atrium, and Exosphere).
  • Provide oversight of all audio operations supporting concerts, residencies, brand events, broadcast productions and special experiences.
  • Develop and execute the longโ€‘term vision, roadmap, and operational strategy for venueโ€‘wide audio technology systems, ensuring alignment with organizational, creative, and business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a highโ€‘performing team of audio artists, technicians and production staff at multiple venues.
  • Ensure seamless execution of all events through rigorous operational planning, quality assurance, and crossโ€‘functional coordination.
  • Collaborate and foster strong partnerships with internal product development and engineering teams to influence product development roadmaps and operationalise emerging audio technologies.
  • Establish operational excellence standards and technical training programs that deliver consistent worldโ€‘class audio experiences for artists, guests and stakeholders.
  • Partner with artists, production teams, touring engineers, and creative stakeholders to integrate venue audio capabilities into show design and execution.
  • Lead the venueโ€™s artist support strategy, ensuring seamless onboarding, technical collaboration, rehearsals and show deployment.
  • Oversee the translation of artistic and production requirements into executable technical solutions while maintaining venue standards and operational integrity.
  • Foster trusted relationships with touring productions and industry partners to position the venue as a premier destination for live entertainment.
  • Establish and drive a culture of operational rigor, resilience, and accountability, ensuring missionโ€‘critical audio systems maintain the highest levels of reliability, redundancy, readiness, and performance across all venues and events.
  • Lead vendor relationships, service agreements, warranty programs, and technical support partnerships to maintain worldโ€‘class system reliability.
  • Drive workforce planning, staffing strategies, labour management, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while onโ€‘site.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in audio design, live sound, music production, or immersive audio for largeโ€‘scale entertainment experiences.
  • Proven senior leadership experience overseeing highโ€‘performing teams and largeโ€‘scale audio environments in a fastโ€‘paced and fluid environment.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and delivering flawless execution in highโ€‘pressure, highโ€‘visibility environments where reliability, precision and responsiveness are paramount.
  • Recognised credibility within the global audio and production community, with the ability to influence artists, engineers, and creative leaders.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and technology teams to translate advanced capabilities into creative production environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex audio concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at an executive level, balancing creative execution, technology strategy, and largeโ€‘scale production realities.
  • Experience with immersive audio technologies, spatial audio systems, or largeโ€‘format sound environments.
  • Background spanning multiple entertainment mediums such as concerts, theatre, immersive attractions, film, television, or experiential entertainment.
