Job description

Weโ€™re looking for a skilled Power Supply & Audio Amplifier Engineer to design, develop, and validate high-performance power and audio circuits for commercial, industrial, or OEM products. This role blends deep analog expertise with practical, hands-on engineeringโ€”ideal for someone who enjoys taking designs from concept through production and sweating the details that make great audio sound great.

Key Responsibilities

Power Supply Design

  • Design and optimize AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies, including linear and switching topologies
  • Perform schematic capture, simulation, component selection, and PCB layout review
  • Address efficiency, thermal performance, EMI/EMC, safety, and reliability requirements
  • Support compliance testing (UL, CE, FCC, etc.)

Audio Amplifier Design

  • Design and develop audio amplifier circuits (Class A, AB, D, or hybrid)
  • Optimize audio performance: THD+N, SNR, frequency response, stability, and efficiency
  • Select and evaluate audio ICs, power devices, magnetics, and passive components
  • Troubleshoot noise, distortion, grounding, and layout-related issues

Prototyping & Validation

  • Build and test prototypes; develop test plans and validation procedures
  • Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, audio analyzers, spectrum analyzers, loads)
  • Perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM), test (DFT), and cost optimization
  • Assist with production bring-up and field issue resolution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics and/or audio amplifier design
  • Strong analog circuit design and analysis skills
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout tools, and circuit simulation (Altium preferred)
  • Hands-on lab experience debugging real hardware

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Class D amplifiers and SMPS for audio applications
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation techniques and compliance testing
  • Familiarity with audio standards and listening-based evaluation
  • Familiarity with standards such as IEC/UL 62368-1
  • Experience designing for rugged environments
  • Experience supporting products through mass production
  • Passion for audio quality and engineering craftsmanship
