Job description

POSITION TITLE:
Student Assistant Specialist - Red Dog Productions
Parsons School for Design, a division of The New School, seeks student staff for the Red Dog Productions videography team. The assignments include University-wide live events, covering symposia and panel discussions hosted in the auditoriums as well as documenting conferences, exhibitions, social receptions, concerts and lectures.
Red Dog Productions will train individuals and they will work alongside producers and faculty advisors to create professional quality, original content that can be added to career portfolio and resumes, while gaining professional experience.
Red Dog Productions is currently seeking great candidates to perform the duties of the Production Crew. This is a non-academic worker student staff position that reports to the Manager of Red Dog Productions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Shoot HD video and set up equipment including tripod, mics
  • Using editing software, transfer and compress files; edit footage
  • Audio mixing
  • Lighting setup and design for interviews, streaming and still photography
  • Web and social media for video and photography
  • Training in different areas as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current FT active student status
  • Knowledge of film and video equipment
  • Technical knowledge of film and video cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and support equipment
  • Experience with film and video production procedures and protocols, set ups, studio and equipment maintenance
  • Film editing and software experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, close attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management abilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Production experience

  • On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
