The main difference is that an Attorney Manager oversees legal teams and manages legal operations, requiring management experience, while an Attorney Coordinator focuses on administrative support, scheduling, and document handling to assist attorneys. Both roles require legal credentials but differ in responsibilities and scope.

How does an attorney manager balance overseeing legal teams with handling their own caseload or client matters?

As an Attorney Manager, you are expected to both supervise a team of attorneys and legal staff and, in many firms or departments, maintain your own caseload or client portfolio. Balancing these responsibilities requires strong time management, delegation, and communication skills. You'll often set priorities for the team, provide mentorship or feedback, review important documents, and step in on complex cases, while also ensuring your own legal work meets deadlines and quality standards. Effective Attorney Managers foster collaboration, set clear expectations, and leverage administrative support to stay organized and responsive.

Attorney Manager (Unlawful Detainer/Landlord Tenant)
Compensation: $350K+ (On-Site but flexible with hybrid/remote when able to)

We are seeking an experienced Unlawful Detainer Attorney Manager to serve as a key leader and coach within our litigation team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing, training, and mentoring attorneys and staff handling unlawful detainer cases while ensuring the highest standards of client service and case outcomes.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead & Coach: Serve as the “UD coach” for the firm — providing strategic guidance, courtroom insights, and ongoing training to attorneys handling unlawful detainer matters.

  • Case Oversight: Manage and supervise the unlawful detainer caseload, ensuring deadlines are met and filings are handled with precision.

  • Develop Talent: Build bench strength across the team by coaching trial techniques, case strategy, and client communication best practices.

  • Drive Excellence: Establish best practices, streamline workflows, and maintain consistent quality across all UD litigation.

  • Client Engagement: Partner with clients to ensure their expectations are met and exceeded while supporting attorneys with complex issues.

What We’re Looking For
  • Extensive experience in unlawful detainer litigation, including trial and courtroom management.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, and inspire attorneys and support staff.

  • Strong organizational and case management skills.

  • Exceptional communication and client service orientation.

  • A proactive, hands-on leader who thrives in an on-site, collaborative environment.

  • Landlord/Tenant or Unlawful Detainer Attorney previously (licensed and worked in CA)
Why Join Us
  • High-impact leadership role where you’ll shape the future of our UD practice.

  • Competitive compensation package up to $350K+ (even flexible for the right fit) + performance bonus + pay raise yearly

  • Growth Opportunities for partner level positions
  • Direct access to firm leadership and the ability to make a measurable difference in case outcomes and team development.

  • Collaborative, team-driven culture that values both expertise and mentorship.
