Job description

Overview
he Attorney Liaison specializes in processing medical records requests from attorney's offices as well as performing a wide variety of tasks such as generating records, affidavits, and other documents as required.
Responsibilities
• To review and respond to all Attorney requests received via mail, fax, and email, included but not limited to: Subpoenas, Affidavit requests, Billing, and medical records requests
• Drafts and prepares records and affidavits pertaining to LOP cases
• Creates invoices and accepts payments for attorney and third-party records requests
• Tracks and follows up with outstanding requests and invoices
• Ensures records are distributed within the legal time limits
• Provides customer service via telephone, email and in person daily
• Follow-up on outstanding LOPs
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
• Minimum of 3 years Medical Records experience
• Heavy experience in attorney and LOP cases
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
• Knowledge of laws that regulate communication and privacy act.
• HIPAA laws and understanding of the application of all above
• Ability to review motions, subpoenas, complaints, and requests for records and independently determine how to process the matter most efficiently
• Prepare detailed correspondence for both internal and external audiences
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Organized, able to manage time effectively and efficiently, customer service-oriented, with professional phone presentation, advanced computer skills, ability to research and resolve LOP billing questions
• Knowledge of the insurance industry
• Professionalism in all dealings, both internal and external
• Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing
• Detail oriented
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
