Job description

This job opportunity is located in Zolfo Springs, FL. Help with relocation expenses is available for the right candidate. We are a growing trucking company (TL, LTL) looking for a highly dedicated, detail-oriented, bilingual (Spanish-English) team member for our Dispatching Department. This office position will be responsible for all aspects of driver transports, within a team setting, from the receipt of a new order to the final delivery of product. Core duties include accurate data entry and follow through of dispatch orders within our TMS software, monitoring and tracking company vehicles as well as receiving and transmitting information with team members, company truck drivers and loading and delivery locations to ensure timely and smooth operations.

Preferred candidates will have an understanding of transportation management software (TMS), experience with logistics and supply chain management and knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance. All candidates should have a high proficiency in data entry, analysis and reporting, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong multitasking abilities, the ability to work independently and as part of a team and attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily load assignments and routing for company drivers, balancing hours-of-service rules, delivery windows, and driver availability

• Source, negotiate, and book freight loads with shippers and brokers via load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.) and direct customer relationship

• Track shipments in real time and proactively communicate delays, detours, or issues to customers and management

• Maintain accurate records of rate confirmations, bills of lading, proof of delivery, expenses, revenue and costs for every load

• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers while on the road — solving problems quickly (breakdowns, delays, paperwork issues)

• Negotiate freight rates to maximize margin while maintaining strong carrier and customer relationships

• Monitor fuel costs, deadhead miles, and load profitability; flag underperforming routes to management

• Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety policies

• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing shippers, brokers, and carriers to grow company's freight network

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a truck dispatcher and/or freight broker

• Working knowledge of load boards (DAT, Truckstop), TMS/dispatch software, GPS/ELD

• Understanding of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and freight brokerage basics

• Strong negotiation skills and comfort discussing rates with shippers and carriers

• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to stay calm and clear during high-pressure situations

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple loads and priorities simultaneously

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and general office software

• Freight broker license/surety bond experience a plus, but not required

Compensation & Benefits

• Relocation help and reimbursement available for the right candidate

• An initial Base Salary + Commission package based on experience

• A great opportunity for performance-based growth

• Paid time off after 1 year

• Year end bonus opportunities
