Job description

About Atomus

Atomus is the cybersecurity and compliance platform built exclusively for aerospace and defense. Founded in 2019 out of a Department of Defense initiative, we help defense contractors meet NIST 800-171, DFARS 7012, and CMMC requirements through our Aegis platform, which automates the security tooling and the documentation these companies need to pass audit. In 2025, Atomus became one of the first organizations to achieve CMMC Level 2 certification with a perfect 110/110 score.

About the Role

The Customer Success Manager owns the ongoing relationship with our defense and aerospace customers after they go live on Atomus Aegis — keeping them secure, compliant, and successful. You will work in a pod alongside a Cybersecurity Engineer and report into our Customer Success and Engineering organization.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and first line of support for a portfolio of customers' cybersecurity and compliance questions.
  • Lead quarterly compliance reviews with customer leadership (owners, CISOs, IT directors) and drive documentation to sign-off.
  • Guide customers through the NIST 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 lifecycle, translating technical controls into clear business outcomes.
  • Partner with a Cybersecurity Engineer to co-own the management of customer accounts
  • Own retention and surface customer feedback to our engineering and product teams to improve the Aegis platform.
  • Travel to customer sites approximately once per month.

What You'll Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in customer success, account management, technical support, GRC, or a client-facing role at a B2B SaaS or technology company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex technical and regulatory topics simple.
  • Strong ownership, organization, and follow-through across multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Comfort learning a technical, highly regulated product.
  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco full-time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to cybersecurity, GRC, compliance, or regulated industries (NIST 800-171, CMMC, DFARS, ITAR, or FedRAMP).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and IT ticketing systems.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or government customers.
