How You Will Make an Impact: 

The Plant Operator runs plant and system operations safely and reliably, performing advanced operating tasks that call for strong technical judgment. This role monitors plant conditions, responds to alarms, diagnoses abnormal conditions, and takes corrective action to protect people, equipment, and production. The Plant Operator also supports troubleshooting during performance issues and validates that operations stay within procedural, environmental, and safety requirements. 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform advanced operating tasks across plant and system operations, applying strong technical judgment to maintain safe and reliable performance. 
  • Monitor plant conditions and equipment performance, responding to alarms and upsets promptly and taking appropriate corrective measures. 
  • Diagnose abnormal plant conditions and take corrective action to protect personnel, equipment, and production. 
  • Support troubleshooting during plant performance issues and help guide the operational response during abnormal conditions. 
  • Validate compliance with operating procedures, environmental requirements, and plant safety standards, escalating deviations promptly. 
  • Perform routine operator rounds, equipment checks, and readings, and accurately document conditions, actions taken, and shift activity. 
  • Communicate plant status, ongoing issues, and outstanding work clearly at shift handover and to site leadership. 
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives, including safety meetings, observations, and hazard identification. 
  • Comply with all Atlas Energy Solutions safety policies and procedures, including energy isolation lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work practices. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 Qualifications 

  • Required: 
  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • 5 + years of plant, production, or industrial operations experience required 
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and process systems, with the ability to interpret gauges, readings, and control system data 
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment 
  • Ability to recognize abnormal conditions and respond calmly and decisively under time pressure 
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter readings and document shift activity in company systems 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required 
  • Valid Driver's License  

Preferred: 

  • Technical certificate or associate degree in process technology, industrial maintenance, or a related discipline 
  • Experience in mining, sand or aggregate processing, manufacturing, energy, or similarly demanding operations 
  • Forklift, loader, or other mobile equipment certification

Physical Demands: 

  • Regular use of hands to handle, finger, and reach materials, tools, and equipment 
  • Required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as needed, including work at elevation and in confined spaces 
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and heavier items with appropriate assistance or mechanical equipment 
  • Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 
  • Must be able to tolerate conditions associated with field and plant environments, including heat, cold, dust, noise, and limited climate control
