Job description

We are seeking a CMT Field Technician 2 to join our Charlotte, NC team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Field testing responsibilities including the testing of soils and concrete for conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Lab testing to perform proctor testing.
  • Hand auger and DCP (Dynamic Cone Penetration) testing of the suitability of bearing materials.
  • Observation of pipe installation and fill placement per standard construction practices and methods.
  • Field testing of asphalt and stone base course materials.

Minimum requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to out-of-town jobs 50%.
  • 3+ years' experience doing construction materials testing.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • ACI and Troxler Certification a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License and able to pass MVR.
  • Ability to pass background check.

Technical requirements:

  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with other Atlas staff and contractors required.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Willingness to travel to out-of-town jobs.
  • ICC Certifications in soils, concrete and asphalt are desired/preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to be outdoors or on your feet for an extended period of time
