SUMMARY

The Industrial Battery Delivery Driver will report to the Atlanta branch daily to prepare and load trucks for pickup and delivery to customer locations.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Delivery and pickup of Industrial Batteries and Chargers

Transport Batteries and Chargers between branches in Suwanee, Atlanta, and Augusta

Loading and unloading, as well as securing palletized loads

Removing and installing batteries in forklifts for swap out

Responsible for general care and cleanliness of company vehicle

Completing daily DOT vehicle inspections

Reporting vehicle maintenance needs to service manager

Forklift operation

Requirements:

SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift, load and secure forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Knowledge of geographical area and ability to navigate.
  • Strong customer relation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Highly motivated and energetic.
  • Responsible for general care and cleanliness of company vehicle.
  • Must be able to safely operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification
  • Ability to operate box trucks and flatbeds
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. (and occasionally in excess of 100 lbs. with assistance)
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

3 years driving experience required. Safe driving record required.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma / GED

Required License: Class C Driver’s License

(Class B Commercial Driver’s License is a plus)


WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the majority of the workday is spent driving. This position is required to drive and safely operate the vehicle to make deliveries from their home branch to customer locations. Must be in good physical condition to bend, stretch and secure loads. This includes loading and unloading forklifts. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally in excess of 100 pounds (with assistance). Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen
