Job description

Description Assists with the overall supervision of athletic fields and sports facilities. Examples of Duties Supervises youth and adult athletic program sites including baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, basketball gyms and other facilities associated with sports programming. Provides general information for coaches, parents, and athletes; delivers exceptional customer service at all times.

Oversees contractual service providers to include scorekeepers, clock operators, referees, umpires and other sports-related service providers. Locks/unlocks facilities before and after programs. Assists with routine maintenance of fields, facilities and restrooms.

Manages program equipment inventory; assigns equipment to coaches and players; collects equipment at conclusion of season; organizers equipment storage area. Acts as a liaison to competition officials, schools staff, and referee assignors. Assists at department wide special events, oversees games, inflatables, crowd control, etc.

Assists Athletic Programs Supervisor with player drafts, field scheduling, record keeping and reports. Typical Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and at least one year of municipal recreation or sports programming experience. Knowledge: General knowledge of youth and adult sports programs, rules, safety protocols and athletic equipment used during basketball, baseball/softball, and soccer.

Position will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions such as rain, extreme heat, extreme cold, sun, and wind. Essential Physical Activities: Stooping, crouching, walking, grasping, hearing, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception.

Typical Weight Handled: up to 50 lbs.
